The announcement of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences caught me flying to the global cluster conference in Dublin TCI2025 and this was an interesting coincidence. Nice discussion today at TCI2025 where I had the opportunity to share some insights on Transformative Innovation and its synergies and differences with Cluster policy, followed by a really insightful discussion groups around this topic that is gaining real traction. 

The main agreement we reached: this is an open learning process for all!!! 

As part of European Future Innovation System (EFIS) Centre, partner of the I3 Support Facility consortium, I had the pleasure of supporting my colleague Elīna Grīniece in the discussion group on value chains held last September the 25th in Brussels, at the premises of the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). 

The last S3 Community of Practice Expert Group meeting was broadcast today, summarising three years of discussions. Good to see so many familiar faces! Here you have my main takeaways:

The S3 Community of Practice, an Initiative of the European Commission ’s DG Regio has just published a new policy paper on “S3 as a Tool for Developing Industrial Policy at Regional Level”, that reflects the debates and contributions held in the Industrial Transition Working Group, to whose members I feel specially thankful.
